2 day dog sledding adventure!

The day starts with the 09:00 pick up from Ruka / Kuusamo and transfer to The Border Inn, which is located next to the Finnish-Russian border.
There you will meet the guides, dogs and you will be given instructions on how to drive a sled.
Together we will harness the dogs and prepare for the start of the tour.
Every person will be driving their own team of 4-6 dogs.
The tours are guided with a dog team
by an experienced musher.
After an exhilarating start from the kennel,
we head north over a varied terrain of frozen lakes
and old nordic pine forests.

Rustic & cosy
The trail along the border is between 30 - 50km per day and will lead us to a rustic wilderness cabin.
With no running water and no electricity, it is hands on for everyone. The cabin is located next to a lake, where we will have to drill a hole to fetch water for our dogs and for us. 3 fire places in the cabin (sauna, open fire place & stove) provide plenty of heat. Grilled sausages for us on the open fire and then it is time to feed the dogs! Once all the outside duties are done, hot sauna & cold beers await.
Our guide will prepare dinner on the rustic stove for you and talk about training, racing and other dog sledding adventures.
Time to head back!
After a hearty breakfast for the dogs and for us, we pack the sleds, harness the dogs, hook the teams and head back to The Border Inn.
Lunch is waiting for you, after a two day adventure.

Transfer back to Ruka / Kuusamo around 16:00
