Philip Ross - Owner​

Philip is the head of operations and brings 25 years of experience to the table.
Originally from Scotland, he has moved to Finland in 1995 to realise his dream and become a musher.
From 2000 until 2018, Philip´s company The Border Inn offered dog sledding week tours
along the Finnish-Russian border.
Katja Bosch

Originally from Germany, Katja moved to Finland in 2011 to live with Philip and his dogs. She brings German efficiency to Ruka Husky and organises the clients and the kennel.
Jelena Ross

​Jelena is a qualified wilderness guide who graduated from the wilderness guide school in Kittilä 2020. She has worked with sled dogs her whole life and brings patience and reliability to the team.
Ulf Schmid

​​​Hobbies: motorbike touring, travel, climbing​
​
Ulf, originally from Germany, came to us as a trainee in October 2021 for a winter season and returned as a main guide for winter 2022 / 2023. After a season in Sweden, Ulf will be joining our team once again.
During the summer months he likes to travel Europe with his motorbike or campervan.
Both dogs and clients enjoy his company and friendly attitude.
Jannick Poulsen

Races: First time handler at Lapland Quest
​
​Jannick drove 2000km with his own car from Denmark to join the Ruka Husky Team as a trainee for this winter season.
He has the most positive attitude and brings plenty of work experience with him from his previous job on a dairy farm.
If anything is broken, he is more than happy to repair it!
